B J has owned and operated his own retail business and served as a senior executive with Fortune 500 companies. He has organized a number of US state, regional and international associations and has served as President of a 32,000 member professional association. Since the break up of the Soviet Union, B. J.’s experience and expertise has been used in helping to privatize former Soviet style business and assisting business there, in Africa, and the Mideast to become successful market economy businesses. He is sought out by organizations in emerging economies because of his personal, hands on consulting and training style. Dr. Shannon publishes and speaks on a wide range of issues and topics. His articles have been translated and published in many countries. He has years of experience dealing with legislative and regulatory agencies, has appeared before US state and Congressional committees and has served as a consultant to a number of US federal agencies including being a Consultant to the US Army surgeon General. Internationally he has often worked directly with Ministries on issues related to business, associations and consumers. The most recent being in May 2004 to help the Ministry of agriculture in Kaluga Oblast, Russia to implement a mandate from President Putin. B J has his Doctorate from Illinois, has done graduate work at The Wharton School at the Univ. of Pennsylvania, Rochester Institute of Technology and Missouri. His undergraduate work was done at Marquette and Wisconsin. B J lives with his wife Edie in Scottsdale, Arizona
