Kevin Murphy has over 20 years experience working in communications, marketing, and member services for a variety of membership-based organizations and nonprofit groups. He is an innovator in the use of online technology – both video and audio – to improve stakeholder communications for associations. Kevin created AssociationNation, an online interactive media broadcast company that produces and aggregates original niche programming. Using innovative new media development tools coupled with tried-and-true production methodology, Kevin and his team design and build entirely new communications platforms for associations. Kevin works with associations in producing cutting-edge and compelling interactive broadcasting online to better disseminate information, cross promote, and generate revenues. Each program is an affordable short-form substantive production, uniquely combining the quality elements of television-like broadcasting with a viewer-friendly interactive component. This is not your grandfather’s type of video. This new media video is user-defined, customized, and entertaining, and is the increasingly preferred way for associations to communicate information to members and all stakeholders. Kevin also created and served as executive producer of AssociationNation, the talk radio program. Broadcasting online and on terrestrial radio exclusively in the Washington DC market, AssociationNation explored management issues with leading industry executives on the work associations perform for members and society. Kevin has held senior management positions for national and international
organizations representing a wide range of constituencies including
higher education, small business, consumer advocacy, aviation, manufacturing,
and health care. With his practical experience, Kevin uses his innovative
7 Signs of an Underperforming Association to help organizations shake
off mediocrity and become high performing. He has worked in all areas
of association management including membership development, product/service
marketing, conference planning, volunteer relations, education programming,
administration and staff development. He is a member of the American
Society of Association Executives and a frequent contributor to various
industry and online publications.
