Richard Robinson is a specialist in the environment as well as
related health, safety, transportation and energy issues. During his 25-year career in the
environment, he has worked on all the major programs. He also has a background in trade
associations as an organizational leader and manager, which includes extensive experience
in all aspects of government affairs at the federal, state and local levels.
He served as Executive Vice President of the Hazardous Waste Management Association (HWMA) where he led advocacy efforts that changed HWMA from an little known organization to one contacted by congressional and federal agency staff on key waste and contaminated site and spill cleanup issues. He has participated as a leader in association lobbying coalitions and worked directly on legislation and regulations. He has personally covered issues at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Office of Safety & Health Administration, and the Department of Transportation. At the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), he managed NEMA's lobbying efforts on all environmental matters. In his most recent position with the Cadmus Group, Mr. Robinson provided support to several EPA offices within its climate change energy efficiency division. Such work included indoor air quality as well as direct support to states, local governments, trade associations and utilities on energy efficiency matters. Previous to that time, Mr. Robinson served in EPA and the Department of Interior for 13 years in senior environmental policy and regulatory positions. Much of his work during those years involved enforcement of and compliance with environmental requirements. Mr. Robinson has a law degree and has practiced both civil and criminal law. Additionally, he has an extensive background in negotiation, facilitation, and mediation. He also has extensive program and project management experience, and is considered an expert in program and project planning and implementation. |
