Susan S. Stratton is dedicated to creating accountable
performance in governance and leadership. Stratton assists clients when
they seek to advance their organizations in a rational way. Her primary
strength is in designing and delivering a process that leads to effective
change in organizational behavior, beginning with the governing body.
Stratton’s customized process design integrates accountability, sound educational principles and an understanding of how people change. Stratton’s ability to step into a variety of leadership styles assures clients that each meeting is authentic and appropriate for the organization’s culture and specific needs. Stratton’s specialty practice is focused on “owner-accountable” governance. She is graduate of the Policy Governance® Academy. She has coached organizations, spanning the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in the implementation of the model, designed by John Carver. This experience assures her clients that governance consulting goes beyond the theory and integrates practical applications as well. As a facilitator, Stratton builds credibility with groups quickly. She designs a process and skillfully asks questions that lead to full group engagement. Stratton has particular skill in capturing the content of dialogue and bringing the group to consensus. Her skilled facilitation allows for a diverse range of opinions to be expressed, evaluated and prioritized in brainstorming, deliberative and planning processes. Stratton holds a Master’s Degree in Education. With her strong background in education, Stratton designs an effective educational process that assures that the players advance their understanding of key issues and concepts, delivered in a manner that uses sound educational principles. In her career, Stratton has been the lead consultant in the development
of several successful educational pathways, including She is a popular conference workshop presenter due to her interactive and energetic presentation style. In 2005, Stratton began working at the international level through
USAID projects in Jordan, in conjunction with the Michigan Society
of Association Executives. The USAID projects have focused primarily
on business planning and education in association best practices.
Additionally, those projects have resulted in three handbooks on association
management topics published in Jordan as well as CAE graduates in
that country. |
