Richard S. (Dick) Willard has over 20 years
experience in international corporate executive management experience in
organizational development, marketing, and management in the international
non-profit community. Prior to establishing his own consulting business, Willard
served as Director of New Business Development for the Institute of
International Education, the nation's largest and oldest human resource
development organization. There he specialized in marketing the
Institute's capabilities to the international development assistance
community, identifying grant and procurement opportunities among Federal
agencies and the multi-lateral lending institutions, and developing the
technical and budget components of Institute bids worth in excess of $200
million.
For 16 years, Willard worked with the international exchange community, serving as Vice President and National Director of the nation's largest student exchange organization, involving 6,000 participants annually among 46 countries. Prior to that, Willard spent 12 years in the field of international industrial relations and foreign assistance, which included service as chief contracting officer for an institute providing training and microenterprise development in Asia. During this time he also served as Assistant Director in South Korea, and Country Director in Indonesia. As an independent consultant, Willard has specialized in organizational and international business development, and the identification of Federal grant opportunities for the association and non-profit communities. His recent clients include trade and professional associations, international training institutes, development assistance contractors, and a national trade and export center. Willard is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives, and serves on the ASAE International Committee. He is a frequent lecturer, and author of ASAE's Sources of Government Funding for Associations and their Members. In addition to serving Plexus Consulting Group as a senior advisor to its Government Affairs Department in Washington, D.C., Willard is on the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Business Technologies, and the Board of Trustees of Visions In Action. Willard is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. |
