Led successful effort in 1994 to save $1 million in funding for
timber sales on Allegheny National Forest (ANF) in Pennsylvania. In
1995, established a grassroots coalition, The Allegheny Forest Alliance,
to further protect the ANF timber program. Currently, the Alliance has:
(1) hundreds of members in the United States, Canada, and Europe; (2)
a budget in the mid six figures; and (3) a governing body of hardwood
lumber/veneer producers and officials from local school boards and townships.
