(8 October 2005-Washington, DC) - A new association has been launched that will serve and represent the interests of small financial services firms and issuers. The International Association of Small Broker Dealers and Advisers (www.IASBDA.com) will focus on the disproportionate regulatory burdens on the small business community that is discouraging investment in small businesses. The new association is based in the Washington, DC offices of Plexus Consulting Group, LLC, a management consulting and association management firm in which Peter Chepucavage is General Counsel and heads its Compliance Consulting practice group. The Association is being formed by a group of experienced small broker-dealer advocates and former regulators. It seeks to represent the international small firm investment community, investors, issuers, market participants, market operators, policy makers, regulators, lawyers and interested parties. “The IASBDA will focus on regulations that have become unduly complex and expensive for small investors. The association will help its members understand and comply with regulations but, more importantly, it will work with regulatory bodies to help ease this burden,” says Mr. Chepucavage. Brad Smith a founder and industry veteran stated: “The interests, practices and needs of entry level capital market structure stakeholders must be addressed by policy makers, regulators, SRO's and market participants developing and supporting right-sized programs and policies.” Before joining Plexus Mr. Chepucavage worked for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as well as a private law firm and a major international investment bank.
