Washington, D.C. – June 2, 2006 -- Plexus Consulting Group, LLC, a Washington, DC-based firm specializing in assisting associations, foundations, corporations, governments, and other organizations in multiple practice areas, has named Carolyn Schwaar a Senior Advisor.

Carolyn Schwaar, an award-winning journalist and communicator specializing in association management has more than 14 years of experience as an editor, writer, and marketer for a variety of publications both in print and online.
For more than seven years, Ms. Schwaar was the publisher of the association management journal at the National Association of REALTORS, the country’s largest trade association with more than 1.3 million members. She also served as a communication manager directing all print and web communications to more than 1,400 state and local REALTOR associations. She was responsible for developing print and online content on association management, leadership, and technology to both educate and inspire.
While at NAR, Ms. Schwaar spearheaded communications projects including a robust website for REALTOR Association Executives, an online guide to sharing services among associations, an annual conference for association communication directors, and a series or e-newsletters on critical association information.

Ms. Schwaar has researched and written hundreds of articles including: “To Profit or Not to Profit?: Is your association tax status a help or a hurdle?”, “Survival Strategies of Small Boards”, “Click Here to Vote: an Update on E-voting” and “Hosting Healthy Fund-Raisers”.
