Washington, D.C. – June 15, 2006 -- Plexus Consulting Group, LLC, a Washington, DC-based firm specializing in assisting associations, foundations, corporations, governments, and other organizations in multiple practice areas, is glad to announce that Ladd K. Biro has joined its consulting team. Ladd Biro brings nearly 20 years of senior level marketing and operational experience with companies large, mid-sized and small. At American Airlines, Biro was one of the most recognized and fast-tracked junior executives in the organization. Successful and increasingly-challenging stints in the company’s marketing planning, advertising and marketing programs departments culminated in the creation of a new sales promotion division headed by the distinguished deal-maker. As director of worldwide sales promotion, Biro developed and executed the strategy that made American the world’s seventh most-prolific corporate sports sponsor. His unconventional deals with the NFL, NBA, America’s Cup, U.S. Ski Team and World Cup ’94 established Biro as one of the “deans” of corporate sports marketing in the early 1990s. Recruited to the National Association of Manufacturers in the summer of 1992, Biro was quickly elevated to the organization’s senior management team as its senior vice president of marketing, member communications and services. He immediately tackled the challenge of repositioning this struggling trade association through a series of controversial and somewhat unpopular initiatives and decisions. Within one year, the NAM’s membership and revenues reversed direction and began a six-year run of record growth and profitability in virtually every category. In 1994, Biro was appointed to the additional role of president of The Manufacturing Institute, the association’s educational and research affiliate. In this capacity, he oversaw the successful launch of a national multi-media advertising campaign called GetTech, positioning manufacturing careers as “cool” in the minds of students; conceived and implemented industry’s first Earth Day celebration on the National Mall; and directed a comprehensive campaign to mark the NAM's Centennial in 1995, earning him a prestigious Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America. In May 2001, Biro returned to Dallas as executive vice president of Advantage Marketing Group (AMG), a boutique sports marketing firm. Biro oversaw the content development, client service and operational functions of the firm – which represented such superstar clients as Emmitt Smith and Barry Bonds.
