Washington, D.C., September 26, 2006 – Plexus Consulting Group, LLC and the North American Trade and Investment Group (NATIG) of Mexico City have signed an affiliation agreement to provide reciprocal consulting services for the nonprofit, profit and government clients of both firms that seek a full range of marketing and public affairs consulting services in Mexico and neighboring Latin American markets. Gerard (Jay). Van Heuvan is the president of NATIG. Previous to his
current position with NATIG, Jay served as president of the North American
Free Trade Association (NAFTA). Additionally, he spent 15 years as the
Executive Vice President of the United States Mexico Chamber of Commerce,
where he represented the Mexican private sector and many US Corporations
doing business in Mexico. While at the Chamber of Commerce, he placed
offices in various U.S – Mexico cities, which include: LA, New York,
Miami, Chicago, Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara and formed a
binational Board of Directors, Membership. He has corporate experience
with Universal Forest Products and Caterpillar Tractor Co, both executive
positions on behalf of international business development and is fluent
in Spanish The author of numerous articles on U.S.-Mexico trade, Mr.
Van Heuven has worked extensively on behalf of private industry interests
in each country. He is fluent in Spanish and has special expertise in
international law, energy development, in-bond operations, transportation,
and hi-tech industries. Mr. Van Heuven’s education includes a J.D. law degree from Universidad
Tecnologica de Mexico, S.C., University of Houston College of Law, and
a Master’s Degree in Business from the American Graduate School of International
Management. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State
University (LSU) and is also a member of the Latin American Bar Association.
He also served as a military advisor in Viet Nam, an infantry officer
in South Korea and lived in Cuba while his father was a diplomat. NATIG has offices in Mexico City, Tampa and will soon open an office
in Havana, Cuba. NATIG services include: Project and Product Identification,
Investment Acquisition, Energy Development, In Bond Assembly, Import/Export,
Trade/Investment. Plexus Consulting Group and NATIG offer the combined
