Washington, D.C. – August 1, 2006 Plexus Consulting Group, LLC, a Washington, DC-based firm specializing
in assisting associations, foundations, corporations, governments, and
other organizations in multiple practice areas, is delighted to announce
that Katherine L Morrison has joined its consulting team. From 1991-2006 Ms. Morrison served as President and CEO of The Campagna Center, a local human services agency in Alexandria VA. Its major programs included: Alexandria Head Start, serving 253 families of income-eligible preschoolers; Early Head Start (60 families with infants and toddlers); Campagna Kids (before- and after-school day care for 900 youngsters): Wright to Read (tutoring): a 21st Century Community Learning Center for 120 academically-challenged elementary students; Bienvenidos tutoring program for Latino high school students, and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Under her leadership The Center’s annual budget grew from $2.7 to more than $8.5 million, the number of children served has grew by one-third, and annual contributions doubled to almost $2 million. In addition she led two successful $500,000 capital campaigns and the renovation of a headquarters building built in 1889, the addition of three new grant-funded programs, increased diversity and leadership skills in the Board of Directors, strategic planning in the areas of programs, membership and development, and automated systems for accounting, donor tracking, and child care registration. Before assuming leadership of The Campagna Center Ms. Morrison served as Director of Human Services Programs at the Northern Virginia Regional Commission where she developed an information and referral database for human service agencies in Northern Virginia, coordinated an annual state legislative package on human service issues, staffed the Commission’s Human Services Committee, and helped form regional coalitions on HIV/AIDS, aging and long-term care, housing/homelessness and childcare. From 1982 until 1987 Ms. Morrison held a series of progressively responsible positions at the Alexandria Area Agency on Aging where she secured resources and supervised implementation of two major new city programs to serve frail elders, the Alexandria Residential Care Home and the Alexandria Adult Day Health Care Center. As a volunteer Ms. Morrison is a member of the Women’s Giving Circle of Alexandria, the WETA Community Advisory Council, the Board of Trustees of the Washington Street United Methodist Church and is an honorary member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Alexandria. ______________________________________________________________
