The American Electronics Association (AEA) faced the challenge of providing reliable data on New Economy industries and measuring their impact on the US economy. It built a research powerhouse from scratch and created a systematic source of reliable industry data to leverage the policy efforts of AEA and its member companies. The result was a Cyber Series, a comprehensive view of the high technology industry that provided extensive insight about the industry in cities, states, nationally and internationally. Ultimately, the project not only armed member organizations with the data needed to achieve policy goals but also gained noted attention in Congressional circles, as well as internationally.
