Winners to Be Honored at March Gala

The Association of Management Consulting Firms is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2012 Awards which celebrate excellence in consulting projects. These outstanding client and consulting project teams were chosen by an independent panel of judges based on a written submission.

“We congratulate the finalists for their important contributions as innovators and exemplary performers in the consulting industry,” said John Furth, President and CEO of AMCF.

The finalists will go through a round of interviews with the judges and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner, In the Spotlight: Celebrating Value & Excellence in Consulting on March 1st, 2012 at the University Club in New York City.

Plexus' Peter Chepucavage on Volcker's Comments Regarding Broken Financial System

(September 27 2010, Washington DC) Released Friday, September 24 2010 in Investors Dealers' Digest, Plexus Consulting Group Senior Advisor Peter Chepucavage was cited as a source for his perspectives on Paul Volcker's- chairman of President Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board- comments that the nation's banking system is still broken.

“When it’s all in place, I think the system will be fixed, but that is probably two to four years from now,’ said Peter Chepucavage of Plexus Consulting Group LLC, a Washington firm that has advised financial services companies on regulatory matters.

Chepucavage said uncertainty about financial regulatory overhaul was the theme at Thursday’s inaugural CFAW-GIC Washington Investment and Regulation Conference, hosted by the CFA Society of Washington, D.C., and the Global Interdependence Center. Panelists worried about costs related to regulatory overhaul. “If people like Chairman Volcker say the system is broken and Congress and the Senate voted on it, then it has to be fixed and we have to put up with uncertainty,” Chepucavage said.

Perspective On Plexus Breakfast Seminar Regarding the 'Nonprofit Sector and Community Solutions Act'

(August 5 2010, Washington DC) Association Trends Editor Jill Cornish shared her perspectives on HR 5533, the "Nonprofit Sector and Community Solutions Act." in the most recent publishing. Plexus Consulting Group, on Friday, July 30th, hosted a Breakfast Seminar with guest Peter Frosch, Legislative Director for Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN), who introduced the legislation. The seminar allowed for Mr. Frosch to explain the reason and need for the Act and to interact directly with the members of the nonprofit community- something both the governmental and nonprofit sides hope to continue.

Ms. Cornish's perspectives are of note in that she moved from a previously opposed perspective to being open to continuing this discussion and seeing the value in an open dialogue between Congress and the nonprofit sector, regardless of the final outcome of HR 5533. Plexus Press Release: New Legislation- A First for the Nonprofit Sector

(30 June 2010, Washington, DC) A new bill in Congress, "The Nonprofit Sector and Community Solutions Act," proposed by Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN) calls for closer partnerships and cooperation between the Federal Government and the nonprofit community. In support of this legislation, Plexus Consulting Group, LLC will be hosting a breakfast discussion Friday, July 30th 2010, in its offices at 1620 Eye St. NW, Washington DC 20006. The breakfast will feature a presentation by Mr. Peter Frosch, the Legislative Director in Congresswoman McCollum’s office about the legislation and what it requires from the nonprofit community to progress. The bill, proposed on June 16th:                                                 

• Calls for the creation of a bi-partisan 16-member US council on Nonprofit Organizations & Community Solutions to advise on the efficiency, contracting, and research needs of nonprofits to improve their impact on the community.
• Outlines the formation of an interagency working group on nonprofits to coordinate and manage the relationships between nonprofits and the federal government.
• Charges a single government agency with the responsibility of financial data collection on nonprofits.

Congresswoman McCollum intends the bill to be a first step in uniting nonprofits to advocate for themselves as an industry, as well as increase dialogue between the federal government and the nonprofit sector. Breakfast will begin at 8:30am and Mr. Frosch will speak at 9am. His presentation will be followed by a short Q&A session. This event is open to any interested association within the non-profit sector. A complimentary breakfast will be provided.

Plexus General Counsel Peter Chepucavage quoted in The PIPEs Report

"Insider information is in the eye of the beholder," according to former SEC attorney and Plexus Consulting general counsel Peter Chepucavage. "Hedge fund short selling researchers are some of the best analysts in the world, and sometimes that research comes into areas that are pretty vague," Chepucavage said. "Information that one person might see as insider information, someone else might see as the product of diligent research."

Chepucavage also observed that criminal cases tend to be harder to prosecute than civil ones, as criminal cases raise the bar for proving intent.

"To streamline the process and dialogue as it developed within the 50-plus-member team, ACPS hired an outside firm, Plexus Consulting Group of Washington, D.C., to facilitate the six primary meetings. According to Crystal Olguin, a Plexus consultant who worked on the ACPS project, the process with ACPS was slower and more complicated than with many of the company’s other customers. Whereas a small group or association may take a day, ACPS took up several Saturdays over many weeks.
